When You Search The Dark, You Get Dark Things

If you’re into menswear, chances are you’ve come across Deadwool. And if you haven’t? Well, it’s about time you did. Deadwool isn’t just another suit brand, it’s -the- game-changer in the world of Second Life male fashion. They are my go-to, always buy the fatpack brand in our virtual world. You can see that by all of these posts featuring the many creations of Deadwool. Masa Plympton has mastered the art of blending old-school craftsmanship with a modern, rebellious edge. It’s the brand for people who want to look effortlessly sharp without feeling like they’re wearing a stiff, traditional suit. Think sleek lines, rich fabrics, and just the right amount of attitude.

From their earliest creations to their latest innovations, Deadwool has built a reputation for creating suits that don’t just fit well but -feel- have their own personality. Whether you’re after something timeless and refined or bold and boundary-pushing, they have something that makes a statement without trying too hard. But how did we get here? How did we go from their first tailored masterpiece (and for this post, we’re sticking to suits/tuxes) to the brand new, bold, modern Spade Suit? Let’s dive into the evolution of their designs because every suit they’ve created is its own, and together, they show just how far Deadwool has come.

The journey begins in early 2015 with The Dandy, the suit that laid the foundation for every other one that followed. If you know what a “dandy” is, you get the vibe; someone who takes pride in their appearance, always looking effortlessly put together. And this suit? It embodied that energy perfectly. With its clean lines, sharp tailoring, and timeless silhouette, The Dandy was a suit designed to be both classic and modern. It was a look that worked anywhere from high-end events to casual gatherings because it was all about confidence and refinement. It comes in both a regular edition and a pinstriped edition (released in May 2015). More than just a well-fitted suit, The Dandy set the standard for Deadwool’s commitment to craftsmanship.

After the success of The Dandy, Deadwool introduced The Peak Suit, wool edition in January 2016, a design that took things up a notch in terms of structure and presence. Featuring bold peak lapels and a more angular cut, The Peak Suit had a powerful, refined look that made it impossible to ignore. It was still tailored to perfection, but this time, it had a more commanding presence. The suit was for those who wanted to stand out without being over the top. Deadwool had officially cemented itself as a brand that didn’t just make suits (they make a lot more as you well know), but with the suits they made statements. The Peak Suit is available in a royal edition (released in March 2016), a tux edition (released in February 2016), and a wool edition (pictured above).

Next, Masa took a step back from sharp angles and structured silhouettes to introduce something a little more laid-back: The Hart Suit. Released in late 2018, this suit was designed for versatility. It had everything Deadwool was known for; expert texture work, quality design, and sleek lines, but with a softer, more relaxed feel. It was for those who wanted to look effortlessly put together without feeling restricted. The beauty of The Hart Suit was its adaptability. It’s available in a regular edition as well as a flannel edition (released in early 2019) that has a turtleneck add-on (shown above). It could be dressed up for formal occasions or styled more casually for everyday wear. The Hart Suit proved that looking sharp didn’t mean sacrificing comfort.

To add to it, Deadwool’s The Hart Vest, released in late 2019, is the perfect pairing for The Hart Suit. It’s super well-made, like all of their clothing, and fits right with the style of the original Hart Suit. It just gives the whole new put-together vibe. What’s cool is that you can mix and match it with different colors and textures, so you’re not locked into just one look. It keeps that sleek, tailored fit Deadwool is known for.

As Deadwool evolved, they began pushing the boundaries of traditional suits even further. Enter The Sean Suit in early 2021, a design that took classic tailoring and injected it with a contemporary, fashion-forward edge. With sharper cuts and bold details, The Sean Suit was designed for those who wanted to break away from tradition. It was modern, sleek, and effortlessly cool, something that worked just as well in a fancy setting as it did in a more casual one. I took the liberty of using it along with Deadwool’s Staple Tee for my Backstreet Boys-themed post back in 2022 and it was perfection. Masa was proving that suits didn’t have to be stuck in the past. They could evolve yet still maintain their sophistication. (Side note there was a super cool bloody version for Halloween too. I loved that.)

Building on the success of The Sean Suit, in mid-2021, Deadwool introduced The Sean (Duke) Suit. It’s an extension of the original, but more formal adding in the shirt with the suit vest to put it over the top. (The shirt with suit vest is also useable with the original Sean Suit as well as you can see in my grieving photos). Not only that, but its new textures were a fresh change from the original. This wasn’t just a suit; it was a statement piece. The texture work is rich, more luxurious fabrics with intricate detailing like it was designed for those who wanted to turn heads. If The Sean Suit was sleek and modern, The Sean (Duke) Suit was refined and bold. Perfect for black-tie events, high-profile occasions, or just for those who love a touch of opulence, this suit was all about prestige.

With The Sean (Duke) Suit, Deadwool had already dipped its toes back into luxury design. But as always Masa wasn’t done yet. The next step? Reinventing the tuxedo. In late 2022, The Tux took everything great about classic black-tie attire and gave it a modern update. The fit was sharper, the lines cleaner, and the overall look more refined. This wasn’t just a tuxedo, it was a masterclass in understated sophistication. A perfect look for those who wanted to look elegant and timeless but still modern and stylish. Deadwool had officially proven that they could tackle any aspect of menswear and make it their own. It was one I used for a favorite couple of photos of mine on New Year’s Eve 2023 and 2025.

If The Tux was sleek and timeless, The Tux (Glam), released in late 2023, was its more daring, statement-making counterpart. With rich fabrics sequined textures, The Tux (Glam) was designed for those who wanted to step outside the box. It wasn’t just about looking good. It was about owning the room. This suit was pure luxury, designed for the kind of events where you don’t just show up, you absolutely fucking arrive.

And now in 2025, we have The Spade Suit (which is featured at the top of this post), Deadwool’s latest and most refined creation. While previous designs played with luxury, structure, and modern tailoring, The Spade Suit represents to me, the perfect balance of all three. It’s sleek, minimalist, and effortlessly bold. Instead of flashy embellishments, The Spade Suit focuses on precision tailoring and premium 2K textures. It’s a suit that speaks for itself, with no need for over-the-top details or gimmicks. Whether worn to a formal event or styled in a more relaxed way, The Spade Suit is about making an impact. With this latest release, Deadwool has proven once again that they’re always ahead of the curve.

As you can see, from The Dandy to The Spade Suit, each one stands the test of time. I could wear any one of them today and it would look like it was made to be worn. Deadwool has continuously redefined what a suit can be. They’ve taken traditional tailoring and pushed it into the future, making sure that every design is both timeless and modern. The best part? They aren’t a brand that rests on its success; they evolve, innovate, and challenge expectations with every new release.
