Here we are, 2024 is coming to a close and 2025 is knocking on the door. Looking back on this year I am very grateful for everything that’s happened and everyone in my life. Family and friends have made 2024 as great as it could be. Life has been wildly busy and crazy but I wouldn’t change a thing. I know in terms of blogging I took a bit of a step back. I learned a lot this past year in what seems like a million different areas, and probably is close to that, I started a new job, and did a lot of amazing memorable things. I am hopeful that 2025 has more going on here and I plan to do my best to have a year like 2023 was. There is plenty in store for 2025…
Gosh, it’s been a while hasn’t it? Yeah it has, it really has. This won’t be a super long post because right now I don’t have a ton to say. Life has been busy honestly. Oh, and yes, I did change my hair for the first time in forever. Not just for a picture, this is the normal everyday look now. We’ll talk again soonish.
Like everyone else, learning how PBR worked (I’m still working on that but it’s getting better) was the big trick to coming back to taking photos late in 2024. Some things are still the same or similar but figuring out reflection probes, how they work, what settings are right, it’s a lot. I think I’m getting a little better at it with each photo I take. Hopefully 2025 is a smooth ride and I get it all figured out. We can dream right?
It’s been a learning curve getting used to PBR and all the changes that has brought in. Especially being out of the blogging scene for as long as I have. I’ll figure it out though and if any of you awesome readers have any tips or tricks please do hit me up and share them. I’d love to learn more. I’m sure a lot of it is just practice like anything else and getting used to reflection probes, lighting, and playing with settings until you find what you’re looking for. Patience right?
It’s been interesting and fun to write “Searching For Silence” a story similar in purpose to “Fate And Fortune” albeit all on my own this time. We’ll most likely get to an ending this and hopefully, it lasts for quite a while. I think I’ve got plenty of photos I can do and the story can’t obviously adjust and adapt as it goes along. It won’t be an every week thing but a more when I have the right idea and the writing is a good fit for it thing. I look forward to seeing it progress and the possible addition of characters and special appearances by people if I decide to open it up even more.
I shot this photo a week ago and edited it but I waited on posting it. Why did I wait? I really wasn’t sure what I wanted to write. I’m still not entirely sure what to write. I knew I loved the shot though, because it was more of a scene shot than a focus on one thing in particular. Variety right? Let the games begin…
Gosh, December flew by didn’t it? 2024 is almost at a close and I can’t say the same for it. It’s been a LONG year. I have successfully navigated another year of epic Elf On The Shelf adventures. There were moments when I thought it might not work but in the end, we made it all month.
