I Wanna Feel Like I, Like My Soul’s On Fire, I Wanna Stay Up All Day And All Night

Today we venture into the wild side, the land of X-rated. I don’t do it often if at all, but the idea for this came about randomly and it -had- to be done. Yes I know it’s well outside of my normal but you all know I like to go outside the box or break the glass and this does both of those. It’s always a blast to shoot something different because you learn new things, you edit it differently, it’s just a tremendous all-around learning process. I have to thank Mackenzie for being a very willing participant yet again in making this photo and post happen.

As I’ve said many times before everything in my Second Life and beyond has played out on these very pages. Every chapter, every “page turn”, it’s all there to see. Why am I bringing that up, quite simply because you’ve seen the highs and lows and as I’ve experienced them. Now I know not everyone reads everything. Especially since I have some rather long posts that seem to be neverending. But at the end of the day, they are there. The interesting part to me is each chapter has had its own ups and downs. Some more than others because well we don’t always make the right choices. I’ve made plenty of missteps along the way, you can find that string through all of the chapters. I like to think if I’ve made a mistake I own it, and while I can say I did and surely hope I did, there’s a chance I missed one or was wrong about another. We’re not perfect beings and mistakes to do get made, often.

That whole paragraph up there is more of the backdrop for this one. Sometimes when you’re not searching for that something that we’re always trying to find in some form, you happen upon it organically. I’ve found those tend to be the ones that work out the best. I won’t say they are because they’re easy, but they are in a way. I’m not saying you don’t have to make efforts, be open and honest, and actually care about the person on the other side because you -do-. You just seem to (or I guess I should say “I”) do them naturally without thinking that you need to do X, Y, or Z. It just happens because it should. It’s equally amazing when you find a person who is the same, things don’t feel forced, you don’t have to push for anything, and it’s easily a give and take between the two.

I’m going to go slightly back in time here because it’s the only way for me to explain and make it make sense at the same time. It also allows me to tie in a post that is similar photo-wise, albeit much tamer, to this one because I don’t venture into the wild side of photography very often. Back in June of 2016 is the last time I posted a photo that is close-ish to this. In the post “Speechless” I spelled out the hows and whys of it. I could rewrite it, but it’s the same either way. So we’ll quote it and carry on after that.

It is rare that I post photos like the one above. Probably because I’m a naturally private person so doing something like this was a challenge for me. It was cool though, stepping outside of my normal boundaries and seeing what I could do with an idea in my head. I’ve greatly enjoyed going through my Flickr stream and seeing the amazing ideas that everyone comes up with. It pushes me to try more things and be more creative than I thought I could be. “Speechless” – June 22, 2016

It still is rare that I post photos like this one, the last time being *ding ding* June 22, 2016. Shocker right? I’m not saying I don’t take those photos from time to time because I do. I still learn the most when I’m editing something different or someone different from just myself. It’s just more fun and more challenging for me. I can edit Lucky in my sleep because I’ve done it so many times before. When you have someone else in the shot with you or it’s someone else altogether you -have- to work harder on it. It sounds like a bad thing but it’s not. I loved it.

The other parallel to “Speechless” is that it takes that other person to really make it happen. It’s a feeling, comfort, ease, something like that. They just make it easier and more special to push to achieve that final result. For the first time since “Speechless,” I feel like I’m back on the right path. That’s saying a lot because as the posts here show we’ve been down a lot of roads together, and not many are as long or involved as that particular one. No matter how it ended the journey was worth it. Now we’re starting a brand new one, one that’s got me inspired in a very positive way.

That leads me to the reason I suggested paying more attention to Mackenzie when we shot “Get Me With Those Green Eyes Baby.” I knew then that something was different with her. Could I pinpoint precisely what it was, maybe, maybe not, but I knew it was there. In the time prior to that being posted and the time since I’ve figured out a lot more and there is something different. The kind of different that just grabs you and shakes you so you realize that whoa you shouldn’t overlook things here. It’s special, raw, real, honest, and true. We’ve arrived, welcome to Chapter VIII. I don’t know where it will all go, but I know where it’s been and all I can say is welcome to these pages girlfriend, here’s to many many more. ♥
