Falling In Reverse – Watch The World Burn
Music music music. I love my music and it really is the soundtrack to everything. My Spotify is constantly evolving on playlists of various types with my favorite one being Burn Your Biographies (which yes is a line from a Panic! at the Disco song). It’s my biggest one and the one that gets updated most often. One band you’ll find on there repeatedly is Falling In Reverse. I’ll admit I was late to the party when it came to them but I quickly realized how much I loved what they do. Their latest single Watch The World Burn is a bit different than what they’ve been doing but it shows how versatile Ronnie Radke really is.
I’ve certainly used Falling In Reverse as the soundtrack to a blog post before, that one being “The Voices In My Head Keep Telling Me To Choose A Side.” I’ve got other ideas that play off of other songs but those will come to life when I have the time and feel I’m capable of doing them justice. They’re an interesting band in that they started out with a completely different sound than the one they have now. It really shows the capabilities of the band and Ronnie to change their style and continue maturing as time goes on. Not every band can do that, and most can’t do it well for long if they do. I’ll give you an example of them growing from a song from last year to one from their first album. The cool part is this song is the same song, just completely recreated, I think it shows some incredible effort and skill to do it and in my opinion, they nailed it.
The original song, The Drug In Me Is You was from their debut album The Drug In Me Is You from 2011. You’ll notice it’s a very pop/punk/alternative sound.
The second version of the song is a new version, with the same lyrics just presented completely different. The Drug In Me Is Reimagined released in 2020, is a very stripped-down version that gives this same song an entirely different feeling and shows the band’s ability to adapt and change their sound. I LOVE this song, both versions are good in their own right, but The Drug In Me is Reimagined is just fucking amazing.
I wanted to take a scene from the video and somewhat spin it into my SecondLife photos and I think it came out pretty well, especially playing seven avatars for one photo. Now obviously it’s not identical to the video which is fine with me. I liked the idea of it and I love messing around with different things when it comes to shooting a photo. Taking this idea and trying to wrap it into what I could pull off was a fun challenge. Obviously, my nuns are slightly less evil and I’m not as dark as he is in terms of outfit and hair, plus I’ve got the beard. All things aside though I’m happy with it and that’s the main thing right?! Credits for everything can be found below and I’ll see you soon with something, what I don’t know, but something.
