Kelsea Ballerini – Cowboys Cry Too [Ft. Noah Kahan]
There’s just something about country and western fashion that never goes out of style. It’s rugged yet effortless, classic yet adaptable. Whether it’s a well-worn pair of boots, a perfectly broken-in hat, or a crisp denim-on-denim look (the good old Canadian tuxedo), country style is all about confidence, comfort, and a little bit of grit. Lately, Western fashion has been getting a modern twist, blending tradition with fresh ideas, and I’m here for it.
Country music has always had its tough, cowboy-up attitude. Especially if you go back a bit to the more twangy stuff that isn’t really my jam, but hey no one loves everything, right? Kelsea Ballerini’s song Cowboys Cry Too flips that on its head. The song challenges the old-school idea that cowboys (or anyone who fits that rugged image) have to bottle everything up and be nothing but strong. It’s raw, emotional, and a reminder that country isn’t just about dusty boots and bar fights; it’s about storytelling, heart, and being real.
That same balance between tough and vulnerable is what makes modern Western fashion so fun to play with. You can still have the classic cowboy look but with updated fits, sleeker silhouettes, and bolder styling choices. If you want to bring that cowboy energy into Second Life, THIRST’s Peck outfit is a must-have. It’s got everything you’d want from a Western-inspired look (you can only see the pants in this photo) but comes with a top and boots to complete the style. It’s got a polished, stylish edge. It feels wearable, like something you’d see on a modern country artist at an award show or on stage. I could certainly see Post Malone rocking some of it.
The scene for this shot was fun to set up as well. I took MINIMAL‘s Pikes Rocks scene and tore it apart. I really only wanted the rock formations for the picture and while cowboys can be modern I didn’t want the road that comes along with the scene. Then I added in some wild grass and rocks from Skye, and cactus from FNY Designs to bring it all home. Of course, the scene isn’t complete without [Teegle]‘s Hanoverian horse and Animosity‘s Slade pose set. It really made the idea come to life.
Kelsea and Noah remind us in Cowboys Cry Too, that cowboys (and cowgirls) are more than just their tough exteriors. There’s heart and depth beneath it all. You can be strong and still have a soft side. You can wear a cowboy hat with ripped jeans and sneakers. Make the style your own.
