Happy New Year to everyone! I know we did a NYE post already but we’re now back home from vacation number two, this time in Aspen and it’s time to get back to work. This oddly enough was the last photo we took while we were there but it’s because we stumbled across it as we explored more on our last night. Mackenzie saw the sign and bench and we decided it would be a major failure to not get a photo there. I ended up getting another version of it as well that is less about the sign and more cute than anything.

We took our first vacation together over her Birthday weekend in August this last year and it was an absolute blast. I knew she had never been on an SL vacation and Highlife Destinations is always the best in my opinion so going to 2023’s version of Bali was a no-brainer. We spent an amazing three days there and getting to share those moments with her was truly the best. It led to us going to Aspen for New Year’s this year. We knew it was the perfect place to ring in 2024 together and it certainly was!

This time around we booked the TasteBuds cooking class instead of doing a romantic dinner. We could have done both but to make it as relaxed a time as we could one was better than both. Since we hadn’t done the cooking class before, it seemed the right choice. I figured this might be great, but it might not. It’s hard to know for sure. Mackenzie ended up loving it and now we might just have to get the setup at home because it was a great time. Our instructor Alumnia was great and kept the mood light, allowing us to choose what we made that day and keep the conversation going. We ended up making Roasted Hog, New Year’s Cupcakes, and Margaritas. I highly suggest anyone who visits spend the time doing it because it is worth every second.

We’ll just say I’ve already done some research on all of it and it’s pretty likely we’ll see it around the house sooner rather than later. I have to agree that it was a ton of fun to do and really added another level to the entire experience. I can definitely see how it would be a lot of fun for us and with Charlotte. Once we finish getting the new house setup of course. Yep, that’s another thing we’re working on for the new year, a clean, fresh house to decorate and set up how we want it for 2024. I’m sure you’ll see photos of it around here soon.

We did a lot of exploring in the snow and ended up on the mountain wandering. There was some horseback riding through the mountain trail during which I somehow ended up in the middle of a rock and we flew off the edge. In Bali it was a hang glider, this time it was a horse. I am just destined to not be the driver. We also drove through the mountains which Mackenzie thankfully did the driving/flying around for haha. Sports cars are not suited for snow but she figured out how to make it fly and we made it work all the way through to the water.

Out of nowhere, a snowball fight broke out and well it’s safe to say Mackenzie won for sure. I managed to capture one moment where I was clearly the one in fear of her pouncing with a rather large ball of snow. It was a cold, calculated, but well-done move by her. I know she had a blast with it and I certainly always do when she’s there. Getting time to make those moments together is all you can ask for. Those are priceless and I’ll take as many of them as I can get.

This would be the aforementioned shot that was more cute than anything. I saw the option for it in the animations we had on the bench by all of the rides and knew if I could get it just right it’d be fun. I love the way it turned out with just us in the moment. It was one of those shots where Mackenzie was busy doing something in RL for a little bit so I had the freedom to kind of shoot and this one was too good to pass up. You would think we’d have a gallery of photos at home with all of the shots that we take between the two of us. If I can find a reason to shoot a picture together I definitely will. We’ve got a great idea for our upcoming month day this month that I really think is going to be perfect. You’ll just have to wait and see.

She is definitely that “one-of-one person” that you rarely ever find. I’m beyond grateful for her. She is my missing puzzle piece in both worlds, one I would have never known was missing until I did. The day she came into my life everything changed for the better. I don’t know what I did right to deserve her but I know I’ll do everything I ever can do to not lose her. She is mine and I am hers, forever and ever and always. 44♥
