She doesn’t know that I’m writing this post or that I edited this photo. It was just a snapshot I took of us the other day and decided to play around with. Just a quiet, peaceful moment between us two. The kind that doesn’t ask for words. The light outside was soft and foggy, a pale haze seeping through the window, wrapping everything in a calm blue-grey glow. The world beyond us felt muffled, trees blurred into the mist, the faint shape of a rainbow bending somewhere far off, but here it was just us. She sat close, eyes fixed on me with that teasing look I know so well, one finger lifted mid-point as if to make some playful gesture. I could’ve stayed in that second forever.
I’ve said a thousand times how much I love her, and I’ll say it a billion more, but tonight I just kept thinking about how much I appreciate her. The quiet things she does, the steady care that doesn’t need to be seen. She’s my rock, she knows when something’s off before I even say a word. She listens, she steadies me, she gives me grace even when I stumble. It’s humbling, and it’s everything. That’s how I know she’s my person in this entire world. I’ve known it since the very first day we talked, that spark that made sense of everything that came before. Every day since has only confirmed it: the laughter, the stillness, the way she shows up. Her love has no edges, no conditions. It just is.
I’ve met my share of people in this virtual world, moments that mattered in their time, but none have matched what she brings into mine. And even outside of Second Life, she’s rare. Like I said before, she felt like home from the first moment. The kind of home that doesn’t need walls, just warmth. Mackenzie, you are amazing. You’re the missing piece of my heart, the peace I didn’t know I was missing. You make the world, our world, feel right. Every day you show me how incredible you are in all you do, and I’m so damn grateful to be part of your life. I love you, now, forever, and always. No credits this time, just a shot for love’s sake.
