This won’t be a long post nor is it focused on any particular item in the photo. It’s more just where my mind is at and an idea that came along and fit into what I wanted to talk about. I don’t write about it often, but I’m a big fan of Doctor Who, more so the Eleventh Doctor (Matt Smith) and the Thirteenth Doctor (Jodie Whittaker). I know a lot of people are big fans of the Tenth Doctor (David Tennant) and while I do enjoy his Doctor, I came into watching it as his run was ending so I didn’t really get attached to that version. That being said the man did one hell of a job, and spoilers, he’s back for a bit until we meet our next Doctor. I wanted to play around with the Doctor to pull off what I wanted to talk about, so without further adieu, GERONIMO!
So as we all go through life we encounter numerous people. They all impact your life in some form or another, be it good or bad, and then more often than not you continue on. I’ve found myself laughing internally I suppose at the idea people have that just because a time frame or situation was good at one point you’re going to go back to it. I write about things, all kinds of things, and sometimes those are things from the past. There has been good and bad in those times and while I could sit and write about the bad, I’ve learned that focusing on that doesn’t really benefit you or your mindset going forward. So I usually write about the good things because they were good and it keeps the mind in a good place. Focusing on positives and things that don’t bring you down is much more productive, at least for me.
Writing about those doesn’t mean I’m longing to go back to something from years ago though. That’s foolish to think if you do, the past is the past and it’s okay that it is. I’m not looking to return to anything from before but I’m also stable and comfortable enough in my own skin to talk about the past. Some people aren’t able to do that and that’s okay as well, it’s not for everyone. Some people just do better moving on completely and letting it all go. That’s good too and I’m glad it works for them.
I can write about someone or something that happened over half a decade ago and have it be completely innocent because it was good then, but circumstances are different now, life goes on. So to those who think they know something or want to try and frame something into something that it’s not, worry about you, not about me. Because really at the end of the day whether it’s a TARDIS, a DeLorean, or some other time travel machine, I’m moving forward, not backward. Enjoy the past for what it is, the past.
