This won’t be a long post nor will it be feature filled aside from the few credits at the bottom. I’ve spent the past week or two working on fleshing out a house for the first time in a while. I’ve posted a picture or two of a couple of rooms on Twitter just as I’ve gone on. This room though is my favorite room of all. It’s the room I go to when I need to think or need a peaceful space to be in. Some call it a man cave, a sports room, whatever you’d like to. For me, it’s simply my zen space.
Yes it is fully outfitted in mostly Lakers stuff, the majority of it is custom done so no it’s not available. It’s for me. Kobe was and remains my absolute favorite basketball player ever. I did a DJ set that was a tribute to him as well as a big exhibition that took me a ton of time to put together. The pieces in this room were formed during that process. So to be able to bring them into my home space was such an easy choice. There’s more Lakers/Kobe related items around the house and honestly I’m really happy about that. The art I chose has meaning, the pictures are memories, everything has a purpose.
Each jersey in each frame was done by hand in Photoshop and took over a month of working on to complete. Countless hours across the board to cover his entire career. From high school to the NBA, and the Olympics. Whether it be #33, #8, or #24 it is represented here. There are 17 banners lining the wall that you can see part of, from 1949 all the way up to 2020. There are 5 Larry O’Brien trophies on the table. I chose only 5 because this room is Kobe. The KB memorial icon, Kobe’s signature, the Lakers logo, and the Staples Center logo are painted onto the floor. As true to form as I can be. I may be proud of the work I’ve done on other rooms, but none will surpass the value of this one to me.
The great thing about taking a photo in my “man cave” is that I’m wearing a lot of stuff from this month’s round of Man Cave. Always an event to make sure you get to because there will be something there that you need. Not want, need. I picked up quite a few things this time around. So let’s work from the top down. Stray Dog has been my go to skin for quite some time now and even though I’ll usually stick to one face for a while, I usually buy what’s come out just so I’ve got it if I need it. Their new Brandon skin is a really well done and detailed skin that may just become my full time face.
Then we have the brand new Double Tee from TonkTastic & HERMONY, this time being Batch II. If you’ve paid attention Batch I is at this month’s round of The Mens Dept. They even updated to add new sizes and wider waist options to both. I remember buying a lot of shirts from the last time these two teamed up and this time is no different. Fatpacks for both. Easy call. So many options and a tee is always something you can wear. Finally we’ve got Kalback’s ViBe Jeans M2, these again are an obvious fatpack buy as all of their jeans are in my opinion. This time around we’ve got a nice cutout in the right leg that has multiple patch options to fill the space. I’ve get some less edited shots of the rest below so you can see the details of the rest. It may not be everyone’s thing but hey it’s my house right, so do it my way. Purple and gold all the way. Plus a splash of Michael Jordan cause why the hell not right. Until next time.
