Sometimes losing your place in something you helped build leaves you trying to separate what belonged to it from what still belongs to you.

SCATTERBRAIN’s BITTER got me thinking about Brian Burkheiser, his account of how his time with I Prevail ended, what he’s creating now and what it means to finally tell your own side of a story. The open gates, darkness and light became my way of bringing all of that into the photo.

You can still be angry. You can even be a little BITTER. Just don’t stop building whatever comes next.

Before I get into the meat of this post I want to be clear. This post is going to be heavy on legitimate information. A lot of words, a lot of my thoughts combined with factual information I have access to. It’s going to have quotes, probably several of them. It’s going to have names.
