For starters, the song is excellent and is so damn true. I don’t need a vacation or to be somewhere else to be happy and enjoy it. Facts. I’m happy just being with my person and loving every second of it. That being said we are going on vacation! Why you ask? Because it’s time to head to HighLife Destinations 2023 version of Bali. I can proudly say that I have had the opportunity to take a vacation at each previous location they have done, including the original Bali from 2020.
I have -NEVER- been disappointed with what I’ve experienced while there nor have I ever felt like I did not get my money’s worth from the trip. This will be Mackenzie’s first time at one of their beautiful destinations. I love seeing how people react to the level of care that is put into what they do, the look, feel, and everything about each one is tailored to what you would expect in the real world. The HighLife Destinations team always has done a fabulous job and I cannot recommend it more to anyone that they book a trip and experience one of the best things in Second Life, from my perspective at least.
This past month plus has been an absolute whirlwind and I wouldn’t trade it for a single second. As I’m sure you’ve noticed things have picked up both here on the blog and over on Flickr. It’s amazing what having someone who enjoys taking pictures and being part of them can do for your inspiration to work harder on them. I’m still coming up with ideas as I go for the most part but we plan ahead a little bit at a time. It’s just nice to not work on solely myself the majority of the time or have no ideas whatsoever. Mackenzie has been stellar in putting together everything she needs for each photo (unless I have a very particular idea) and that makes doing the work even easier. It’s really not work either when I think about it.
It helps that all of you lovely people who either look at Flickr or happen to click over to the blog have been absolutely insane I came back to blogging. The love, support, and appreciation are off the charts and I truly can’t thank everyone enough for that. Knowing that what you’re doing resonates with more than just yourself is always a great thing. I know in my last post I talked more about doing it because you love it, not worrying about the numbers, and just honestly doing what you love to do. That is true still, but it’s nice to see things doing well, and helps motivate you to keep on trying new things or do more than you normally would. July was a very productive month in terms of photos and blog posts, which hopefully keeps up throughout August as well. That’s the goal at least.
I played around with a couple of different outfit ideas for the “travel” photo of this vacation. Eventually landing on what you see above, thankfully between some events I had some really great options. I started with the <Kalback> Friday shirt that’s available at this month’s round of The Mens Dept (August 5th-August 31st) and I, of course, did the Lucky thing and fatpacked it. It’s a good thing I did because the color I had initially decided to use didn’t end up being the one I picked in the end. It’s available in thirteen different options, with a fourteenth being a fatpack exclusive. I landed on the purple one to compliment Mackenzie’s color choice and because it stood out in the shot. I paired it up with Cold Ash’s RHYS Cropped Chinos from this month’s round of ALPHA (July 22nd-August 17th) to finish off my summer vibe. IT was once again another fatpack though I was quite sure I would use the khaki/beige color option because I wanted to keep it simple for the look.
Credits for everything else can be found below as usual. For now, it’s time to get back to planning and packing for the trip as well as getting some housework done. Count on plenty of photos from Bali after it’s all said and done, I’ve got some ideas for it and hopefully, they turn out as well as I think they will. I’ll see you all soon!
