This post is 100% completely the opposite of how I’ve been doing this for I can’t even remember how long. I usually always have words to put down, most of the time they’re not for anyone but myself hence the oh 18 drafts sitting here. This time it’s more the shot was ready to shoot because I am once again collaborating and therefore it’s not all on Lucky time. Which if you know me means if I do it, I do it, if not, well tough luck.
So we set things up last night for the shoot and even that took a while because I just wasn’t finding a windlight that suited what I wanted. Thankfully in the end I ended up where I did or you’d end up with the Tropicana one that I shot first. It’s been sort of refreshing to not have to put the entire idea for something together and outside of the off collaboration with Brennan it’s been a few years since I did any until recently. It’s also nice to not have to necessarily drag my alternate half in to pose for something because I have an off the wall idea again. Lord knows that it will happen again and probably soon because that’s just the way it is. But before that this get’s done and I still have a post sitting that just needs to get it’s photo shot. Soon? I hope.
Trust me, I think everyone won on this outcome. As you’ll see below, the first shot, while good-ish, isn’t really accomplishing my goal. But enjoy it anyway cause why the hell not.
The world has been a bit different since the last time I posted. The changes in terms of WoW has been the most drastic by far. I think the last time I took an actual break from it was for during WoD when most of us chose to do so. So that was at least 4 years ago. Needless to say it’s been nice to be more casual when it comes to my time spent there. I’ve moved on to joining a friends guild and helping them along the way as my experience in the prior guild has been useful. I’m proud of them and what they’ve accomplished in the past couple of weeks and it’s quite possible I may have found a permanent home that provides me with just enough of what I want from the game. Only time will tell. You never know when that progression bug will bite again. Never say never.
When it comes to Second Life I’ve still been a bum when it comes to blogging and that’s quite unlikely to change because who am I kidding, I still do it the way I want to. I respect and love sponsors/brands/events and all of that. I truly do. But I know that in all reality the commitment required to do such things is just not something I’m looking for now, if ever again. Please don’t take that as diss towards anyone who does this full time because it’s not. You guys and girls are all great and do an awesome service to any brands you represent. Mad respect to everyone there.
I’ve told Brennan numerous times that there is no way in hell I could do what he does and the same would apply to Stef. I just don’t have that anymore. I think I explained it best earlier when I was talking about sponsors. When it comes to me, even I wouldn’t want me as a representative of my brand. I speak whatever the hell is on my mind and that doesn’t always look good for a brand. I know this. So in the end it works for both of us. I do whatever I want and brands get the people are best to promote them in the right ways.
Needless to say I’m writing most of this at 2am so if anything seems rambley (is that even a damn word) or incoherent I blame it on time. Seems like a good reason to me. I will check it over before it goes live to (hopefully) prevent any massive mistakes on my part. Oh snap checked it over, feel good about most it, aside from this song not being officially out until tomorrow aka midnight EST tonight. I’ll update with video and stuff then.
