There are certain brands in Second Life that I find myself coming back to again and again over the years. Not because I have to, but because something about their work consistently fits the stories I want to tell. FOXCITY has been one of those brands for me for a long time. If you scroll through the FOXCITY category here on the blog, you’ll see it show up across different posts and different moments in my Second Life. Sometimes it’s the main environment shaping the entire photo. Sometimes it’s a smaller detail that ends up tying the whole scene together. Either way, it’s always been one of those brands where the second I rez something, ideas start forming.
That’s something I’ve always appreciated about FOXCITY’s creations. They never feel loud just for the sake of being loud. They feel intentional. Balanced. They create a mood without overpowering whatever story you’re trying to tell in the moment. The creator behind FOXCITY, Satomi, has built a brand that really understands atmosphere. Whether it’s a dramatic environment or something softer and calmer, there’s always this sense that the space was designed for people to actually live their stories inside it.
So when blogger applications opened up, I of course applied, and then did what almost every blogger does next.
Waited.
And refreshed messages more times than I’d like to admit. A whole lot more even though I knew when the deadline was and the search ended.
There’s always that little bit of nervous energy when I apply for something like that. I start thinking about how much I admire the brand, how often I’ve used their work before, and how incredible it would feel to represent them. At the same time, I try not to get my hopes up too much. (I do a reasonably bad job at that part too.) So when I found out I had been chosen to blog for FOXCITY, it honestly meant a lot to me. It’s a big deal.
Anyone who has been blogging for a while knows there are creators you quietly admire from a distance for years. You use their work because it fits your aesthetic, because the quality is consistently great, and because their creations help bring your ideas to life. Then one day you get the chance to officially represent that brand. That moment hits differently. It feels like recognition not just for the photos you take, but for the stories you tell with them.
If you look back through older posts on the blog, you can see FOXCITY pop up in a few different chapters already. One that stands out to me was when Mackenzie and I used the Rosethorn Manor photo booth for a post together. It had this darker, romantic atmosphere that perfectly matched the tone we were going for at the time. The photo booth didn’t just sit in the background, it helped set the entire emotional tone of the photo. That’s the kind of thing FOXCITY does really well. They don’t just exist as decor. They help bring life to the scenes in my head.
Right now FOXCITY has the Serenity skybox (as well as the Time Out Pose set pictured below) available at Kustom9 (you’ve got until March 10th to grab it there and save yourself 25%!), and it honestly couldn’t have lined up better with where life is at. The Serenity skybox really lives up to its name. It has clean lines, big open windows, and this soft natural light that makes the whole space feel calm the moment you step into it. You can get it furnished and unfurnished and it has touch-based customization for the curtains. They can be relaxed, windy, or hidden. They are relaxed in the photo above!
Lighting can be turned on or off as well. To top if off you can adjust the PBR ambiance and show/hide the sky surround! (the balloons are added from hive and the confetti is post production.) It feels like a quiet place floating above the noise of the grid. Not overly busy. Not cluttered. Just peaceful. The kind of place where you sit down for a minute, cam around the room, and suddenly realize you’ve been there longer than you planned because it just feels good to exist there. And lately, those quiet peaceful moments have meant a lot.
Because Mackenzie and I have some pretty big news. We’re expecting twins. A baby boy and a baby girl. Before you ask we have some name ideas but nothing nailed down quite yet. Ideas are flying around and we’re working on pairing first names and middles names to see what works best for us with our youngest, Charlotte (Charlie) Adeline Spiritor. Even typing that still feels surreal in the best way possible. Our family is about to grow again and the excitement around our house right now is huge.
There’s a lot of planning happening, a lot of talking about what the future is going to look like, and a lot of those quiet moments where we just look at each other and realize how lucky we are. Charlotte is absolutely thrilled about becoming a big sister. She’s already (somewhat) talking about all the things she’s going to teach them and how she wants to help take care of them. She’s not even three just yet so we’ll see how well she does with those. That being said, seeing how excited she is might honestly be one of my favorite parts of all of this so far.
So setting up the Serenity skybox ended up feeling like more than just decorating a new space.It felt like creating a place where we could slow down and enjoy this moment in time. A place where Mackenzie and I could sit together, talk about names, imagine what life will look like once the twins arrive, and just take in the calm before everything becomes a little louder and a lot more chaotic in the best possible way. Second Life has always been storytelling for me. That’s really what this blog has always been about. Sometimes it’s fashion. Sometimes it’s music. Sometimes it’s just capturing a moment that feels meaningful at the time. But it’s always been about documenting chapters.
So having FOXCITY be part of this new chapter, not just as a brand I’ve used in the background of posts before but now as one I officially represent, feels incredibly special. From admiring Satomi’s work for years, to applying and nervously waiting to hear back, to now sharing spaces like the Serenity skybox while our family is getting ready to grow again, it really does feel like a full circle moment. If this peaceful little skybox is where this next chapter begins, I’d say that’s a pretty beautiful place to start.
