Merry Christmas! We were up nice and early thanks to the little one but I’d be lying if I said the two of us weren’t just as excited to get our first Christmas together started. Aside from buying for Charlotte, Mackenzie and I tend to do most of our shopping throughout the year so Christmas is more about quality than quantity. Sure we have a few things we’ll get one another, but for us, the time together, seeing the little one happy, and just enjoying all of the moments are the biggest things.
This year Mackenzie got us all pajamas to wear for our first Christmas morning together and it was definitely a great decision. All three of us were dressed for the season and had a great time opening gifts and spending that time with each other. It’s the time you never get back and the memories that last a lifetime. I look forward to making many more with Mackenzie, Charlotte, and any others we end up adding to this little family of ours.
I of course had to add my [Bad Unicorn] Fluffy Santa Hat to top mine off since I played the role of Santa this year handing out our gifts. It fit perfectly with my pajamas so I thought I might as well pull it out to use. It’s been the first year we’ve done Elf on the Shelf, our first Christmas together, and soon enough our first New Year’s Eve/Day together. I’m definitely going to miss Elf on the Shelf. We started out with the rules of it and doing it according to how everything was explained, but it quickly morphed into its own thing and we ran with it. I’ve had so much doing that daily that it’s going to be weird to not be doing it. I look forward to picking it back up next December.
We’ll be spending New Year’s in Aspen which should be an amazing time. This has been the -best- Christmas I have had in years. The gifts are great, but the people around you are what truly matter and I couldn’t have better people around me than I do now. Credits for almost everything can be found below.
