Life is funny, isn’t it?

Lucky and I weren’t always an item. Heck, you can even see posts on this blog where I introduce him as my brother because, for the longest time, we were brother and sister in Second Life. Not in the creepy Game of Thrones way (*cough*don’twakethedragon*cough*) but we were closer than friends. We took care of one another, supported one another, and during those times where our lives took us in completely different directions, there was always the security that came with knowing that there was someone, somewhere that accepted and cared for you no matter what. We could always come back.

We did a lot of things together.

You might be asking yourself by now how this is funny but I haven’t gotten to the amusing part yet! Interestingly enough, the funny part is that we used to work together at Perfection Weddings (don’t worry about looking it up – that ship has long sailed);  Lucky was one of the principal owners and I helped out as much as possible (usually in the form of building flower arrangements and cakes for our customers and filling in as photographer in a pinch). It’s a demanding business and we have nothing but respect for people that do this full-time. Heck, even part-time can be pretty insane.

This picture was taken at Rosewood Isle, a new wedding venue catering to customers who are looking for a more intimate experience, and, yes, we’re doing it as part of a contest – the details of which I’m happy to share with you in case you’re interested in creating an entry of your own:

The day of Romance and Love is quickly approaching and “Rosewood Isle – Weddings” team prepared a small contest for you!

The rules of entering our contest are very simple:

1) Please visit us inworldmaps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Rosewoods/40/119/21 and make a couple photo on our beautiful sim.

2) Please submit your photo to the Rosewood Isle groupwww.flickr.com/groups/2898648@N22/ on Flickr Before February 14th at midnight SLT. Your photo must be titled ‘Rosewood Isle Photo Contest – (Your Name) in order to be considered as an entry into our contest. Please keep all photos PG and tasteful, anything otherwise – will not be considered.

3) Please have fun and feel free to enter as many photos as you like!

The winner will be able to book Rosewood Isle for a romantic date or even a wedding for a day of your choosing between February 15-29th. You will then have full access (along with your guests) to Rosewood Isle and all of its amenities for 24 hours. Be aware that Rosewood Isle is designed for small and intimate weddings, with a capacity of 20 people total. Please note that we will not be performing the services or planning of your romantic day and will not make any changes to the sim, it will come “as it is” – this is just a free sim rental.

The winner will also receive 2 L$5000 Giftcards from [ zerkalo ] as well as early access to Shiny Shabby for the next round!

Rosewood Isle will be opened to the public on February 8th thru February 13th – during this time you will be able to come and explore and hopefully take photos! Bloggers are welcome too! We hope to see you there!

Lucky and I are saying our own vows this Saturday, February 13th regardless of whether this prize falls into our lap or not but the timing of this is just lovely, isn’t it?
