Just Get It Down.

When I saw that quote show up it really caught my attention. My twitter feed is usually a hodgepodge of sports blurbs, musicians/bands, and random game tweets. Every once in a while though I get something that really stands out. Now I know that I’m the one who really controls what shows up in my feed, so I’m not complaining about it. This one in particular stood out to me to for one real reason. I don’t think of myself as a remotely good writer. I’ll sit and question a post or even sentences in my head for ages and still not be sure. I know a lot of that is just confidence in myself. I’ve worked on it and will continue to. The quote just made sense to me in that regard, write to write, judge it later.

Take for example this post. The words and picture really do not go together at all. The only thing that ties them together is just going with the flow. I took the shot last night just on a whim and had no idea of what I wanted to do with it. I could have gone the dark gritty route with it, which was the direction I started down. It was probably a good thing that Portia asked about watching more Daredevil last night as it took me away from it for a while. When I picked back up after we we’re done watching our show the picture took a decidedly different direction.

When the overlay I used ended up giving me the really awesome effect that it did I knew it was the right way to go. After an hour of experimenting with different hues and all the other wonderful settings, I ended up with the cyan color you see above. Red was my original choice but the effect made the face too red and took too much away from it. Overall I’m quite happy with how it came out. I wish I could relate the post more to what I’m wearing but it’s just one of those times where it’s just not happening. I will say that the entire idea was built around the Spirant Mask from Wicca’s Wardrobe. Everything else came together pretty nicely around it. Credits for the rest are below.
